Next Steps

I've been coming to MBC for a while...what now?

We hope that you've decided to make MBC your church home! Or...maybe you're still thinking things over and weighing your options. Either way, here are some next steps to consider as you move through the process of connecting with - and making a commitment to - the Lord Jesus and a local church body.

Are you a Christian? Have you asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior? This is foundational in moving forward with Next Steps.

__________

Small Groups: Getting involved in one of our small groups - a study here on campus on Sunday mornings or in an MBCer's home during the week - is a great way to get connected on a deeper level than just showing up for church on Sunday morning. You'll want to start getting to know people and developing on-on-one relationships with others at MBC to help you feel included and an integral part of this local body.

__________

Baptism: We make a big deal of baptisms here - it's a reason to celebrate! It's a declaration to the world - or at least those on hand to watch or videotape! - that you've asked Jesus to be your Savior and are choosing to follow His ways and will for your life. Our full-immersion baptisms are held periodically as interest is expressed. Baptism is a prerequisite for partnership at MBC.

__________

Partnership: MBC isn't a club, so we're not into "membership!" We consider our members more as ministry partners. From time to time, MBC conducts a class to present our mission & vision and then we invite people with like-minded attitudes & beliefs to become "on-the-rolls" partners of this local church body. It's a commitment we ask individuals to consider prayerfully and to take to heart. If you're simply curious about what we believe and what partnership would involve, you're welcome to attend/participate in the class - no commitment required!

__________

Serving in a ministry: All MBCers - whether partners or regular/frequent attenders - are encouraged to "worship an hour (that's church attendance), connect an hour (that's small group involvement), and serve an hour (that's volunteering in a ministry). Ministry doesn't "just happen" - we need people to serve to make it happen! There are always opportunities to get involved somewhere and offer the gift of your time, skills, and interests here at MBC, and serving is vital in further connecting with and committing to this local body. Be advised that some of our volunteer positions require background checks.

__________

Evangelism & Discipleship: The mission that Jesus left with His followers was "Go and make disciples" in the faith. That's why MBC exists: we're about pointing people to Jesus and making them His disciples, who - in turn - will repeat the process. Whether you're new to the faith or have been a believer for years, "polishing" your ability to share the gospel message and coming alongside others as they walk out their faith are vital tools for every Christian to have. It's great when this happens organically, but we also have a plan to equip & encourage you to follow the Lord's command.
